Was 2025 a good year for Harting CAN?

Your Harting CAN team got together before Christmas and took a moment to think about what we have achieved over the last year....

We planted 10 varieties of Sussex apple trees, with the help of some of the children from Harting Primary School, creating a community orchard in Lower Culvers.

The first swift box, made by people in our community, has been occupied. We hope more will take up residence this year

The solar panels are now up and working on the Community Hall roof as is the electric vehicle charging point. This project was facilitated by Harting CAN, but has involved so many people in our community.

We bought together the community to share stories from the past in our parish with the Harting Scrapbook event, showing us how different life is now and how we have affected the land around us.

Harting CAN hosted an event for other local climate action groups on resilience, which was very well received and was very thought provoking.

11 Stitch & Enrich events were held within the Thursday Café, where many different people came together to work on or get advice on their creations

10 Repair Cafes were held in 2025, with 282 repairs undertaken, taking the total since we started to 1119. This year every month a young would-be repairer has joined the volunteers and is learning how to become a full repairer.

This is a huge community effort, thank you to everyone who has been involved. Together we have achieved so much in 2025.
